In addition to changing the transportation-bonds package, Gov. Wilder altered a bill requiring that teenage girls notify their parents before getting an abortion.
Gov. Wilder’s change requires that the bill be passed by the General Assembly in 1993 before it may become law. That action, some say, could mean the bill will die in a Senate committee that killed similar legislation this year. It was only by circumventing that committee by legislative maneuvering that the bill was passed this year.
