There will be a community trash pick-up, with the Washington fire hall recycling center serving as “Trash Headquarters” for the day, Saturday, April 18.

Members of the community are encouraged to participate by bringing in their recyclable goods and by collecting trash along Rappahannock roadsides.

Bags from VDOT will be provided at the fire hall and the Rappahannock High Environmental Chib members, as well as members of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP), Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC), and the Rappahannock Rainforest Action Group (RAG) will be available to help with pick-up of bags and recyclables.

The pick-up is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to be followed by a picnic and frisbee toss at the Rappahannock Park. Call Hunt Harris at 675-1436 or 703-347-0823 for further information.
