Earth Day is
observed here ✓'It’s coining this week: Wednesday, April 22 is nationally and internationally recognized as Earth Day and several activities in the county are taking place in honor of it. At Rappahannock Elementary School there will be a tree planting ceremony, co-sponsored by the Rappahannock Rainforest Action Group. At the high school, the Environmental Club is presenting an assembly on “Endangered Species” in co-operation with the Wildlife Center of Virginia. They will also have bulletin board displays up all week related to water, air, rainforest and land conservation issues, and there will be a campus clean-up during the day.
