The other alternate will be selected by a vote of the four delegates during the next week, according to Mr. Reeve, the county chairman.
Mrs. White, Mr. Dobrovir, Mr. Reeve and Mr. Baumgardner are also delegates to the 10th Congressional District Convention in Warrenton May 23 at Fauquier High School. The Democrats do not now have a single candidate to oppose Republican U.S. Rep. Frank Wolk, a six-term incumbent, so all four will attend as uncommitted delegates.
In voting that took place over the weekend and Monday, Gov. Clinton reportedly won 54 percent of the state’s delegates, former California governor Jerry Brown took 11 percent, and 34 percent were uncommitted.
The turnout was low across Virginia, which will send 78 delegates to the national convention in New York City in August.
