Organizational meeting An organizational meeting for a new daytime Extension Homemakers Club will be held at the Extension Office at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. If you are interested in joining a daytime club, come and learn what Extension Homemakers Clubs are all about. Plan to attend the morning program on “Seafood Cookery" at 10 a.m. too.
Carwash, bake sale The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will hold a car wash and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. The cost of the wash is $5 per car and will be held at the fire hall. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods should call Connie Harris at 675-3067. The Fire Department is also planning an auction in May, so remember them when you do your spring cleaning. Watch the newspaper for further details.
Contestants sought The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is seeking young ladies for carnival queen. The carnival will be held May 27-30. Anyone wishing to be a contestant should call 987-8124 and leave a message.
