He noted that the town, in conjunction with other towns, perhaps through the Virginia Municipal League, can ask for such a change in Potomac Edison’s practices and rate schedule any time the utility is before the State Corporation Commission for a rate adjustment.

Member Ray Gooch said the fixtures chosen must fit into the historic district. He suggested the town also send pictures of the three fixtures to the state division of historic resources for their comments.

Mr. Morehouse suggested the ARB might wish to reconsider its recommendation since its membership has changed.

Janice Moffett noted that the ARB has delayed acting on an application by the Inn at Little Washington to install its own streetlights at its own expense, waiting for the council to act on street lights.

Council members said the ARB should go ahead and act on the application. The council took no action on the question.

Mr. Reynolds said he had approached Douglas Baumgarnder and asked that his client, Fredette Eagle, file another plat of the property she acquired in a boundary adjustment with Ashby Waylaid.
