Bonds vital

for future I

To the Editor:

On election day, Nov. 3; voters will be asked to make a choice that will have a crucial impact on Virginia’s future. At stake that day is a $613 million bond referendum in support of higher education, Virginia’s park system and mental health facilities. These bonds —- vital for Virginia’s economic future — are endorsed by the State Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Business Council, the Virginia Municipal League and numerous other groups.

Virginia has weathered an economic storm over the past two years. Tough; but necessary, choices were maoe'Hhs balance the state’s budget withouuraising taxes. I applaud the fiscally conservative steps that have been taken. Now, I submit, it is time to invest in Virginia’s future. : i;
