Bond proponents tell us the principle and interest on the new debt can be paid without a tax increase. In my opinion this is not true. Although provision has been made for the debt in the current budget - as we address the salaries and other critical operating budget needs for the next biennium - there will have to be a general tax increase.

We are now approaching the final weeks before the Presidential election and see that the two candidates are pulling out all stops in order to gain maximum exposure.
When appearing recently on the Phil Donahue Show, Bill Clinton figured he was in safe liberal territory. To his surprise, Donahue again brought up the question of his attempts to avoid serving this country during the Vietnam conflict. Clinton’s heated and indignant response was that his actions as a 23-year-old should not apply to him now.
