It has been said that “no nation can tax itself into prosperity” and this is true. This axiom takes on more meaning when I ask myself, “Can they tax me into prosperity?” Of course not.
Then, can we bring the poor and down-trodden into prosperity by taxing me? Again the answer is no!
The only way that we as a people can prosper is for the government to allow the private sector to invest, labor, grow and keep more of what they earn. This will put able-bodied people to work and allow us to help the truly needy segment of society. This is not the Clinton/Gore plan, but that of President Bush. With a new Congress of Republicans and Democrats alike he can and will lead us into true economic recovery, not more taxes and more government jobs.
It has often been said that the Democratic Party is for the poor people, and as one old Rappahannock sage put it, “Yes, and if we keep electing them we’ll all be poor. Then they will be for everybody.”
Vote Bush/Quayle/Wolf on Nov. 3.
