power instead from the Hazel switching station just inside the Culpeper County line near Boston. This small facility is a connecting point for Potomac Edison and VEPCO.

Now, REC is apparently considering a line from Sperryville to the Hazel switching station and and three routes from there to Rixeyville. Engineer Rick Bywaters has shown a map of the several alternative routes using the Boston facility to Natalie Emery, a landowner along the original route, and Robert Anderson, supervisor from StonewallHawthom District, which includes many of REC’s Rappahannock customers. Mr. Anderson said a map showing these routes is available at the REC Culpeper office.
