9. Sex of horse. G. - gelding or altered male; h. - entire horse four or over; c. - colt or entire male three or under; r. - ridgling or partial male; m. - mare or female four or over; f. - filly or female three or under.
10. Age of horse. Horses are not allowed to nice over fences in sanctioned races until the late spring of their 3-year-old year. They may start on the flat in the spring of their 2-year-old year.
11. Sire or father’s name.
12. Dam or mother’s name.
13. Country of birth. Some common ones are: GB - Great Britain; IRE - Ireland; CHI - Chile; ARG -Argentina; NZ - New Zealand; AUS - Australia. It does not matter where the owner of the mare lives, nor where the mating took place; the country of birth is strictly just that —where the mare actually dropped the foal.
