In another matter, a petition was accepted from Rappahannock County residents concerned about the proposed transmission line between the Rixley substation and Sperryville. Nancy Raines of Rappahannock County presented the petition, asking co-op leaders to reconsider the proposed line.
Co-op presidents Cecil Viverette replied that the cooperative is considering all alternatives and is working closely with the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors. He also told the membership that the cooperative was taking steps that would have the least adverse impact while improving electric service to the area.
