The Workspace for Choreographers, outside Sperryville, presents Sharon Wyrrick, a choreographer, director, and resident of Rappahannock County, in an evening of her dance theatre works Friday and Saturday evenings, Sept. 17-18.
The evening will feature both solo works performed by Wyrrick as well as group works performed by her company Full Circle. The company includes performers David Bentley, Kim Doyle, Ginni MacCallum, Cathy Paine and Ingrid Zimmer.
Audiences can expect to experience a wide range of emotions and styles in the works. The works include “Flock,” an abstract contemporary dance work that depicts a group of individuals that struggle to find their place in the world, reminiscent of images of angels or other spiritual beings.
“Infinite Passions” is a theatrical ritual for three w omen using hundreds of flowers to portray the passage through the stages of love and life.
“Ride With The Wind” is a solo work for Wyrrick that uses spoken word writh movement and visuals. Here Wyrrick takes us from childhood to adulthood with images of the desire for freedom and how those change for us as we grow older.
