He was bom Sept. 12,1939 in Tocoma, Washington son of Irene W. Dougherty of Portland, Oregon and the late Boyd Edward Dougherty.
Mr. Dougherty was captain with United Airlines for 24 years.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and had his B.S. degree from the University of Washington. '
Surviving with his mother are his wife, M. Kathryn Dougherty of Washington; two sons Donald Michael Dougherty of Houston, TX and Ronald Mitchell Dougherty of Murfreesboro, N.C. and two sisters, Sharon Irene Taylor of Aloha, Oregon and Janet Celeste Cretsinger of Aloha, Oregon.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jennings Hobson officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Rappahannock Unit, P.0. Box 3, Washington, Va. 22747.
