Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the library. Space is limited and the Friends are requesting confirmation by payment before Sept. 11. All funds raised will be used to purchase copies of classics not currently in the collection or to replace worn out books. The Friends hope to raise approximately $2,000.

The fund-raiser is based on a literary motif. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as a character or author from adult or children’s classic literature.

‘The idea of ‘literature’ and ‘the classics,’ in particular, have sort of stuffy reputation,” said Susan McCathy, FOL member and “A Novel Affair” chairperson., “The Friends of the Library felt this type of event could inject some humor and interest into the subject of raising funds for the library.
