The Castleton residency, auditions which began last fall, drew participants from top music programs, productions and conservatories from across the States, Europe and South America, including Stage Director William Kerley, a London-based freelancer, and Arianna Zukerman (Female Chorus), whose 2006-07 season engagements include a debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a collaboration with the Miami String Quartet.
Yale University grad student Tamara Mumford’s (Lucretia) recent stage appearances include her roles of Laura in “Luisa Miller” and Eine Altstimme in “Parsifal,” both produced with the Metropolitan Opera. Vale Rideout returned to Rappahannock this year as Male Chorus in “Lucretia”; the tenor currently singing Alfred in the San Francisco Opera’s “Die Fledermaus” played Peter Quint in last year’s Chateauville chamber opera pilot project, Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw.”
