Mr. Atkins was born April 20, 1932 in Rappahannock County, son of the late Ebb M. Atkins, Sr. and Bertie Dodson Atkins.
He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Manassas.
Mr. Atkins was a loving husband and father and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to go fishing, make and crack jokes to kids and all who came around him. He loved his Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Florance B. Atkins; four sons, Carroll Atkins of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Charles Atkins of Manassas, James Atkins of Dale City and Ronnie Atkins of Manassas; three daughters, Janice Mauck, Prama Robinson and Linda Hamilton all of Manassas; two brothers, George Atkins and Melvin Atkins both of Sperryville, Virginia; five sisters, Annie Huff of Flint Hill, Juanita Atkins, Ruth Atkins, Elsie Atkins and Jane Baker all of Sperryville; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Atkins, a brother, Huey Atkins and a sister, Minnie Pullen.
