“This was something that really allowed you to focus on one thing,” said LaRosa, a grad student in the Juilliard Masters program. “It’s really been wonderful spending all this time on these performances.”
“Usually I feel like I'm spinning plates,” he added. “By midsecond week here, we were rehearsing this every day.”
The Castleton residency lasted four weeks for the spring show’s company of 50 musicians, designers, directors, coaches and managers. The group spent the time working and living on the Castleton Farms estate, the heart of which is its private, 72-seat theater suited for recital and chamber music programs, dance and theatrical events, and chamber opera.
