From Harpers Ferry, the trail crosses a trestle bridge over the Potomac Imw into Maryland, follows the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpaih and V climbs 850 feet to an outcropping tkat looks down on the town. Tke outcropping is also a J popular spot for rock climbers.
