The tragic events of Monday morning have hit hard here. And the pain is being felt by anyone connected with Virginia Tech, with our Commonwealth, with higher education, with feelings for bright young minds, lives filled with promise ....
As details of the mass shooting were revealed over these tragic days, we were overcome first by disbelief, then anger, then overwhelming grief.
These were the same painful feelings that many of us felt after the attacks of 9-11-01. And this incident has struck us just as close to home.
