Pageant Registration/Rehearsal
Registration takes place at the Rappahannock County Elementary School gymnasium at 2:00 with rehearsal at 2:30. All pageant participants must register at this time. Registration is $35 per entry in each of 10 categories. Participants must be residents, attend school, or be children of landowners in county. Proceeds benefit Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad. May 14: WCDS Book Fair
Wakefield Country Day School is hosting the Bedford Falls Book Fair from Tuesday, May 1, through Friday, May 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with evening hours on May 4. The public is welcome.
May 1: Kindergarten registration
All children who will be five years old by September 30,2007 may enter Kindergarten this August. Registration for new kindergartners will be held at RCES on Tuesday, May 1, Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3. The hours are 9 a.m.11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. by appointment If you know of any children in Rappahannock County who will be five by September 30 (including your own), we would greatly appreciate your giving us that information so that we may contact their parents and arrange an appointment. May 2: Free clinic
Rappahannock Free Clinic will be open on May 2 at the County Health Department on Main Street in Washington. For more information call the Fauquier Free Clinic at 540-347-0394.
May 2: In-orchard meeting
Rappahannock Extension Office invites each of you to attend an In-orchard meeting scheduled to be held at Sunnyside Organic Orchard, Gustavo Diaz, Washington at 11 a.m. for a tour of the orchard, followed by a discussion of current insect and disease control recommendations, and other orchard management practices. Sunnyside Farms is located in “Harris Hollow” from Washington, Va: , west on Rt. 622 for' 1.5 miles, then right onto Rt. 624 for about 1 mile. Call the Extension Office at 540-675-3619 to register for this program or for information. After the orchard tour you will have a bagged lunch, bring your own, drinks will be furnished by the host orchardist. You will adjourn around 1 p.m.
