In the back of the room, people could learn why Dominion Virginia Power wants to build their power line. To the side they could see their routes. And in the front of the room, they could view the power line corridor on detailed, colored maps.
The gathering at Culpeper Middle School on Monday night was Dominion’s shot at convincing the public that their pro-1 posed 500,000-volt power line was needed.
About 24 Dominion representatives took questions while wearing matching powder-blue polo shirts. The presentation wasn’t enough to please the crowd of skeptics.
“It’s a real art to being this evasive,” Rappahannock resident Kathleen Hutcheson said in frustration. “They do an incredible job of saying lots, but absolutely nothing. It’s incredible. We’re not going to leave with any more information we came with.”
