Monarch butterflies in the spring air accompanied by harp and violin music. Area residents sponsor butterflies in memory of loved ones who have died and in honor people who have made a difference in their lives, especially those who have been caregivers for the terminally ill. The Butterfly Release supports Hospice of the Rapidan’s grief care program, which include free, community based care to assist people with their grieving and healing, regardless of hospice affiliation.
Anyone is welcome to sponsor butterflies at $25 each. Sponsorship includes free admission to the ceremony and formal gardens plus discounted access to Montpelier’s exhibits and presentations. Hospice of
