Laurel and Billy Shaffer, local students selected as Student Ambassadors with People to Pleople delegations traveling this summer, are hosting a spaghetti dinner w/ live bluegrass music on Saturday, April 21, from 5-8 p.m., at Amissville United Methodist Church, 14760 Lee Highway (Route 211). Dinner is $6 per person; ages 4 and under eat free. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread & butter, beverages, dessert, and great music! Monies raised will go towards each student’s tuition costs. A yard sale, bake sale and hamburger/hot dog lunch will be offered to the community on Saturday, April 21 at Washington Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p. m., the same day as the Fodderstack Race. The Grandma’s Attic yard sale and bake sale will be held in the church Fellowship Hall while the hamburger/hot dog lunch will be under a tent across the street from the courthouse between the old Rappahannock National Bank building and the Theatre at Washington. They will be open rain or shine. The yard sale will feature a variety of household items, office accessories, books and children’s toys. AD of the baked goods will be homemade and will include pies, cakes, cookies and breads. They invite all to come out and epjoy the morning with them. AD the proceeds will go to their Long Tram Maintenance Fund. You may contact the church office at 675-3336 for more information about this event.
