nersmp received a $750,000 grant in 2006 from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to implement strategies designed to impact services for area seniors. The Partnership is now taking steps to reach our goals and wants to hear from the community how we’re doing. Come join us in shaping our future!
Why should you participate in this conversation? Regardless of how old you are, the growth in the aging population will affect you. This demographic shift expected over the next 20 years will change the face of our community in countless ways, from housing to job opportunities to the ways we relate to our neighbors. Whether the change is beneficial or problematic depends on what we do now. Seniors, their families and caregivers, professional providers and local businesses can all benefit from attending the Community Conversation both to listen and to provide input.
The Rappahannock County Elder Coalition Community Conversation on Aging will be held in conjunction with the Health Fair sponsored by the Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Lunch/refreshments will be provided along with information about local resources for older persons.
