Culpeper has addressed the problem of septage by refusing all septage at the town of Culpeper sewage treatment plant.
“We are not accepting any septage,” said water and waste water plant manager Ken Arthur. “I don’t know where all the stuff is going.”
Mr. Arthur said the county has various “small package plants” that service a business or small area, but between them those smaller plants and the town’s plant are not capable of dealing with septage.
“We are working on a plan” to upgrade the town plant, he said, adding discussion on the project has stalled due to the question of money.
