Lions Club holds
apple butter sales

Most of you are aware of the many good deeds that are done for the Rappahannock community by the Lions Club programs. Many of you have benefited directly through the eye and ear programs, the gifts to the schools, the scholarships and other contributions to groups, families and individuals who need support from time to time.
The Lions never seek reward or public recognition for services they render as these needs arise. The Lion members’ motto is “I Serve,” and they do the best they can to live up to that mission.
There are two primary sources for the funds the Lion Club distribute. All contributions go to help the community. The members’ dues pay for all the club expenses. There is the annual auction and the famous apple butter ente^rise. Apple butter made by Lion members, from local apples picked, cut, cooked and stirred by Lions.
Last weekend you may have driven by the apple butter stand on U.S. 211-522 near Rappahannock Elementary. This Saturday and Sunday they will be out there again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or later if the customers keep coming.
