She had on hand some unul books for research, one that shjpiad written on Genealogical Abstracts, and others pertaining to ancestors of this particular area. The story of George Rogers Clark, a very important patriot but largely ignored, was of particular interest to her and she had reprints of his books. She commented that he was never paid for his work for the country and died a bitter, old man.
The President General’s Message, read by Mrs. Randolph Dixon, in commenting that this is the end of the Centennial year, urged that in this coming Second Century of Service to the Nation that we remember that “the past is our heritage, the present is our obligation, the future is our challenge” and that we are blessed to be Americans.
