He favors a constitutional amendment to make the president submit a balanced budget, a lineitem veto and an end to deficit spending.
Del. Allen was co-chairman of U.S. Rep. Slaughter’s most recent reelection campaign against David Smith, and generally approves of Rep. Slaughter’s work in Congress. He also strongly supports the job President Bush has done.
Del. Allen said environmental clean-up has to be balanced with its impact on human lives and on business.
He has proposed Workfare, a 20year-old Republican program that would force those healthy adults on public assistance to perform a certain amount of community service in order to qualify.
