John Toler continues as Vice President and General Manager of the Times-Democrat, and will work with Mr. Smith in developing sales and marketing plans of these newspapers with local businesses.
A native of West Virginia, IVIr. Smith attended Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va., and has worked up through a professional career in advertising sales, marketing, circulation and general newspaper management in Virginia, West Virginia and the western states.
He and his wife, Patty, have four grown children. Their youngest child attends Shepherd College. He has been active in the Rotary and Chambers of Commerce.
