council about her plans to start with no more than 30 students in grades pre-K through 2. She said this year about 20 kids, ages 3-8, will be taught at the school from 9 a.m.noon, five days a week. Because some of the grades are not there every day, total capacity this year will never go above 15, she said.
The council also agreed to permit occasional night meetings, and weekend assemblies, also on an irregular basis.
Spring Mountain School had previously held classes in Old Hollow.
Ms. Craig said the total number of teachers, including herself, is only three.
Tuition is $1,700 a year for firstand second-graders, $90 per month for kindergarteners, and $60 per month for nursery school students.
• Approved a subdivision application by council member Newbill Miller, allowing him to divide a parcel on the south end of town into two lots of 2.6 and 3 acres each.
The subdivision was approved on the condition, noted by council member Ray Gooch, that if Mr. Miller redivides one of the lots within 48 months, then the entire 5.6-acre property will fall under rules pertaining to three-lot subdivisions. Mayor Dean Morehouse also requested that Mr. Miller amend his plat to show where the water line enters the subdivision.
The subdivision was approved unanimously. Mr. Miiler participated as applicant and did not vote or discuss the subdivision as a council member.
