Lowell Jennings
James Lowell Jennings, 79, of 2868 Westover Drive, Danville, died Oct. 6 after a brief illness.
He was the husband of William A. Buntin’s sister, Nancy Buntin Jennings.
He was a tobacconist for more than 50 years and served as office manager, secretary and treasurer of the Virginia-Carolina Warehouse for 52 years until his retirement in 1990.
In addition to his wife of 52 years he is survived by three sons, Stuart W. and Robert L. of Danville, James L. Jennings Jr. of Herndon and one daughter, Barbara J. Deane of Danville.
Mr. Jennings enjoyed his visits to Washington, Va., especially the Fourth of July celebrations, which were usually the occasion for Buntin family picnics.
