In between these sessions the board heard a request from representatives of the senior class to take a four-day senior trip to Seven Springs resort in Pennsylvania. Lori Paratore, class president, said the ; class would prefer to take the trip • leaving after school Feb. 1 and returning after school Feb. 5. This , would cost about $233 per person, ; Miss Paratore said. • • As an alternative, she said the class could leave after school on March 3 and return in the afternoon of Sunday, March 7. This would cost about $258 per person. Miss Paratore said the seniors would prefer the earlier trip because the ski slopes would be less crowded on the weekdays, because ski weather is more reliable in February than March, and because more people ' could go if it cost less. She said the March dates were the first weekend dates available.
School Superintendent David . Gangel and the board approved the trip, but Gangel said he wanted to discuss the matter with Principal John Toth before acting on the recommendation that the students take the earlier trip because it would involve missing four, rather than two, days of school.
