contributions to the school during the past year and presented him a plaque on behalf of the board. Konick urged parents to remember the spirit that got the school going and to continue working together to keep it a “special place” for students in the future.

Headmistress Pamela Lynn, noting the school’s doubled size over last year’s enrollment, said she hoped that, as the school grew, parents would maintain their high energy level.

She encouraged parents to come to the school, get caught up in the spirit, and become a part of the school community. Mrs. Lynn suggested several volunteer opportunities.

Following the Parents’ Association meeting, parents attended their students’ classes, discussing course expectations with teachers and other parents. Wakefield Country Day School families come from 10 counties in Virginia and two in West Virginia.
