Francie Schroeder and Henry Eastwood present their camera’s eye view of art in a show that runs through Oct. 31 at Washington’s Middle Street Gallery.
The local premiere of their work, “Rappahannock Exposure,” came 10 years ago. That first exhibition was photography as chronicle, highlighting settings, scenes and characters that are uniquely Rappahannock.
The intervening decade brings changes in attitude and latitude for the husband-and-wife team. Their current exhibit is photography as art, with the medium manipulated to interpret and comment.
And they’ve widened their range. While the focus is still very much on Rappahannock, the county shares the frame with more cosmopolitan images. The split mirrors the lifestyle of the photographers: they divide their time between Washing
