SPERRYVILLE — Employees of the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative may have outnumbered patrons at the meeting last week to discuss service and the proposed rate increase, but they could not overcome the patrons’ anger.
REC, which serves customers in parts of 16 counties, has about 750 customers in Rappahannock, mostly in the southern and eastern part of the county. They are served from the Rixley substation near Rixeyville, with power provided to the Rixley substation on transmission lines owned by Virginia Power.
