Jenkins honor
Linda Jenkins, daughter of Khoa Jenkins of Sperryville and the late Charles W. Jenkins has been named one of 15 Hollins Scholars in the sophomore class at Hollins College in Roanoke. Miss Jenkins is a graduate of Rappahannock High School.
As the most prestigious academic scholarship at Hollins, the honor involves a substantial financial award as well as many educational opportunities. Students are chosen on the basis of a series of interviews with the selection • committed comprised of faculty from each division and the dean of admissions. In addition to having excellent academic records, candidates must score 1200 or higher on the Scholastic Aptitude Test and rank in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. Sophomore Hollins Scholars must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 at the beginning of the academic ' year to retain their scholarship.
