The stairway leading to the restaurant sets the stage for a unique experience. Styled by Parisian designer Ariane Pilliard in collaboration with local artist Marie Taylor, the decor focuses on trompe I’oeil effects including floor-to-ceiling murals which transport guests to the Bordeaux region of France, one df the world’s foremost wine-producing areas. Opulent table settings create an elegant atmosphere.
The centerpiece of the Princd Michel Restaurant is the extraordinary cuisine of Alain Lecomte who took first place in the prestigious Concours National de France des Chefs de Cuisine in 1990. Lecomte arrived in Virginia in July with his wife Annie and three-year-old daughter Clemence. Recreating his highly acclaimed French specialities using local products and pairing these dishes with Prince Michel and Rapidan River wines has been very exciting for the Chef. “Sharing these discoveries with my new American friends will be a great pleasure,” says Lecomte with an unmistakably French accent.
