The last two senior classes have taken their senior trips to the Pennsylvania resort, which offers a pool, racquetball, roller skating and miniature golf as well as skiing.
The board learned that a survey of parents done during registration showed very similar results to one
done last year. In both surveys parents expressed general satisfaction with the schools, but a significant number of parents of elementary school students were not satisfied with the bus system, and a significant minority of parents of high schoolers were not satisfied that discipline is fair and consistent.
When those problems showed up last year, committees were formed to work on the problems. As a result, two additional bus routes were added this year, and a new high school discipline policy was adopted.
Gangel said he hopes these changes will be reflected in surveys next year, after the parents have a year’s experience with the changes.
