Rappahannock’s representative^ State Del. Jerry Wood, D-31st Dist., said that this amendment proposal sailed through the General Assembly unopposed, and unopposed legist, lation is voted on as a block. He did not recall the proposal initially, andhad to search back in his records.
“Yes, I voted for it down there,’’! he said last week, “and I didn’t recognize it at first because it went through the General Assembly assomething called the ‘Rainy Day Fund.’ It had complete, bipartisansupport, and was part of the packages that were voted on in a block,” he said.
“It seems like the smart thing to do,” Wood added, “to save money when times are good for those days w'hen the times aren’t so good. Thisis on the ballot now because it is the second time that it has passed"! through the General Assembly. I j think that it will be approved eas- • ily,”hesaid. !
