in addition to the lodge there were also stables, enclosures for deer and foxes and kennels for the hounds. The area is still referred to locally as “The Kennels.”
Among the people who hunted fox here with the colonel were King Edward VIII of England when he was Prince of Wales. By 1955 it became the property of Witold Kuncewicz who, that year, moved a two story frame house to the site from an adjacent farm and joined it to the east end of the log house. 1 This now provides a dining room with a large bedroom above. Further renovations included additional bath and bedrooms. Outbuildings on the property include a guest cottage and horse bams.
Behind the house is a swimming pool and just below this a sunken rose garden in the foundations of another building that burned in the early 1900s.
