In this large and diverse country .of ours, every state except Virginia - has elected school boards. The public ‘ school system is the most important • single enterprise of our local government.
It involves the most taxes and '.the most people - adults and children - and in a very real sense it is '.an expression of our hopes for the Coming generation, our joy in our "Children and in preparing them for a jneaningful future. ' It would seem to be most appropriate that our representatives on the School Board, who will help shape the policies of our schools, should be elected by and directly re
