Educator’s conference scheduled
The PTO of Rappahannock County Elementary School is holding the second annual Rappahannock Educator’s Conference from 9:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at Rappahannock County High School.
Deadline for registration is Friday, Oct. 16. Registration forms may be obtained from Raye Tupper, Jon Heddleston, Pam Lynn, Tutt Stapp-Harris, Diane Wood, Bethany Craig, Margaret Dunn or Laurie Marshall. Call 675-3267 for more information.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Creating the Learning Community.” Teachers in public and private schools, home-schoolers, youth workers, parents, students, businesses and community organizations are invited to attend.
The director of the National Community Education Association, Starla Jewell-Kelly, will be guest speaker. Joyce Ralls of Faith Mountain will be talking about what is going on in education.
Those wishing to make a presentation in the morning session on “What’s Working and What’s Exciting in Our ' Learning Community” may submit ideas. Students also may . attend with teachers.
The conference is free of charge. Participants may come ' for just the morning or afternoon sessions. Bring a bag lunch.
