Elder care is an issue of rising importance in the world as the global population of people over age sixty continues to rise. This is a concern that has even managed to filter down into Rappahannock County, as illustrated by the Rappahannock Rapidan Elder Care Coalition forum held in Washington in June. Now tinder new management, the Jackson House Assisted Living Facility in Boston is one way for residents to ease those concerns.
The Jackson House was recently purchased and redecorated by a Maryland couple, Charity and Violet Sillero, who are both registered nurses. Charity Sillero is in his fifteenth year in the nursing profession, and Violet Sillero works in long term care and rehab. They came to Rappahannock County in part because they heard about the need for more elder care services in the region.
“We talked with locals and the locals were telling us there was a need and an opportunity,” explained Charity. One of the ways locals communicated this need was at the various elder care forums held in the area in recent months. At the forums, seniors and health advocates
