August 8, 9:45 a.m. Amy Hostetler of Huntley, VA was driving her 2001 F250 southbound on Rt. 522 just north of Massie's Comer when she lost control of her vehicle, running off the right shoulder of the road,over correcting and striking a telephone pole. Hostetler sustained minor injuries and was charged with reckless driving by State Trooper Derrick Mauck. The telephone pole was destroyed and will be replaced.
August 6,12:10 p.m. Alison Downey of Asheville, NC was waiting in her 1998 Honda Accord to enter eastbound US 211 at the median across from Massie's Comer. The rear end of Downey's car was in the westbound passing lane of US 211, and was struck by a 2002 Kia Spoilage driven by Geneva Pierson of Amissville.. Pierson was taken to Fauquier Hospital with non-life-threat
