Myers working his way to supervisor of the HVAC shop. Mr. Keys was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. During his retirement Mr. Keys continued to raise beef cattle for many years at his home, Someday Hill Farm. He was a devoted father and grandfather and was noted in the community for his helpfulness and generosity.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jehane Keys, and five sons, Blaine Keys of Silver Spring, MD.; Gary S. Keys, Ii and his wife, Gayle, of Bettendorf, Iowa; Wesley S. Keys and his wife, Angie, of Washington, Va.; Dallas S. Keys and his wife, Sharon, of Inwood, W. Va.; and Timothy S. Keys and his wife, Sarah, of Jersey, Va.
Mr. Keys is survived by five grandchildren, a half-brother, Jed Lankford and his wife, Joy, of Jasper, Ga., and a sister, Patricia Blake of Murrells Inlet, S. C.
Additional survivors include a mother, Anna Ruth Keys and her three children, Beverly Rampey, James Brookman and Rev. Robert Brookman, numerous other family, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 9, at Found and Sons chapel with Rev. Robert Brookman officiating. Interment was private.
