August 10 Construction Update: The severe storm that passed through the area Sunday afternoon dumped a couple inches at.. ..and in the elementary school. The construction crew worked all that night to vacuum up the water from the kitchen area and back hall. Those are the areas where the old roof had been removed and the new roof was still in progress.
The contractor has told us that if weather cooperates t’-.e rest of this week, the roof shoui 1 be completed by the end of the weekend. I have asked the contractor to quickly remove any damaged carpet, to make repairs to the kitchen ceiling per instructions of the project engineer, to use electric heat to dry out the affected interior area of the school, and to use a licensed sub-contractor to abate any damaged asbestos tile.
