I saw something on the TV the other day about the number of songbirds that one domestic cat will kill in a year, if allowed to roam freely. It was very high, but I don’t remember the numbers or just how the research was done.
I know they are also fond of young rabbits, and if little Racer Rabbit turns up missing, it’s going to be like the words of that old Randy Travis song, “Send My Body Home on a Freight Train.” Randy is in a courtroom, charged with something he didn’t do. But, nevertheless, he sings, “I guess they’re going to have to hang somebody, and it’s looking like I’m gonna’be the one.”
