Logan’s run
Sperryville resident Kim McKieman needs our
help. Her son Logan has cystic fibrosis and being
the pro-active mom that she is, she has decided to run in the Marine Corps Marathon(26.2 miles) to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The race will be held in October in Washington, D.C.
Her training for the race is underway and despite heat and a sprained ankle, Kim has admitted that despite the challenge, it's not too bad.
Her inspiration is her son, Logan. He is currently fighting off an infection in his lungs and has to take large amounts of antibiotics and do hours of physical therapy each day for a month.
Logan is luckier than most though. He's still active and primarily deals with digestive issues but the disease may do more damage as he gets older. Logan is 11.
