An original short play developed by Ki Theatre will be performed at the Source Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Monday, August 15, as part of “Rising Tide: A Flood of New 10-Minute Plays.” The event is the 20th annual Source Theatre 10-minute play competition and marks the 25th anniversary of Source’s Washington Theatre Festival.
The play, “Skunk Scrabble”, is written by Emma Foster, who hails from Montpelier, Virginia. In this engaging mini-play, Foster fondly recalls her childhood afternoons playing Scrabble with her spirited and eccentric grandmother. It was these experiences that led to Foster's appreciation of language and ultimately to her love of writing.
The play features three women who are all veteran performers in Ki productions: Warrenton actress Stephanie Mastri along with Sara Dodd-Henze and Cydria Mannette from Rappahannock County.
